Prospective MP Goes Digital!

Prospective Liberal Democrat MP for Pendle, barrister Afzal Anwar, has embraced the digital world. He has joined Facebook and Twitter in an effort to reach out to all sections of society.

He said: "Many residents have expressed concerns about the remoteness they feel from their MPs and MEPs and I intend to bridge that gap. The Internet is a great way to contact people directly."

"If it's okay for Barack Obama it's okay for me."

He also said that he hoped it would help him connect with young people in an environment they feel comfortable with (their own homes).

"I can share the party's education policies that will support students, and many other policies alike."

Liberal Democrats believe that education is a birth right that everyone should enjoy. Therefore the party strongly believes in the abolition of tuition fees as part of a free education system.
